One of Northumberland’s most popular villages, Craster is home to the famous Craster kippers, still produced in its smokery, and the iconic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. The breathtaking silvery sands of Embleton Bay lie just beyond and are home to many species of wildlife. In the village you’ll find a welcoming gastropub, an art gallery and café – all in walking distance of our cottages.
If you’re looking for a group getaway, Seascape (Sleeps 10) has jaw-dropping views from its balcony and a spacious garden. A perfect family or friends escape it has a whole host of outdoor play equipment from swings to a football goal and the garage has been converted into a games room.
For those with pets, Coastguard’s Cottage is a newly-renovated house for eight, which offers good value for holidaymakers. It is great all year round with its feature log burner and hidden garden, which offers views of the shoreline, harbour and village.
If you’re after days spent watching the crashing of the waves and the beautiful sunsets and sunrises of this protected coastline then Craster Rocks (Sleeps 6) and Craster Waves (Sleeps 4) are for you. Owned by the same family these cottages are cool and slightly retro and Craster Rocks has received the acclamation of a number of national press titles.
Craster Retreat (Sleeps 8) is the most luxurious cottage in our collection. This 200-year-old double-fronted fisherman’s cottage overlooks the harbour and the sea and has been lovingly renovated by the owners. The interior designer furnishings and original features such as the inglenook fireplace, exposed stone week and wooden beams, ensure this is one property that it is worth spending a bit more on.
